On the download and demo page, choose academic registration or a commercial demo request. If you are an academic user who registered previously, simply click the box specifying that and enter your email address. If you are a new user or have a new address, please fill in your contact information. Once you agree to the license terms, click the Agree and Submit Request button at the bottom of the page. Wait for approval and an email message providing download access.

If you installed TREND software previously, uninstall it first by going to its directory and running uninstall.bat (Windows) or uninstall.script (Mac OS and Linux). After downloading the new package, extract the zipped archive file. In the new directory created (e.g. TRENDacademic-1.8), run install.bat (Windows) or install.script (Mac OS and Linux). The simple installation process creates symbolic links to the executable files on the Desktop in the TREND_NMR and TRENDclassic folders for the recent and previous programs, respectively.

The OS X and Linux installation scripts change the PATH environment variable. The Windows script TRENDterminal.bat opens a command shell in which all executable files of TREND (with suffix of .exe) can be invoked, both the versions operated by GUI and at the command line.

The installation process is not complete until the first usage of one of the programs triggers the download and installation of software for handling images. This download requires a reliable internet connection. If you don’t have reliable internet access when you first use a TREND program, please see this webpage.

Detailed installation instructions are listed in a page for each operating system:

Windows 7 and above

Mac OS X 10.7.5 and later

Linux: RedHat/CentOS 7.x, Ubuntu  16, Fedora 24, and later
